Polyeder needles are probably the most useful of all accessories in Vendel period clothing. In women’s clothing they can be used in pairs to hold a peplos up or to fasten a string of pearls, or alone to hold a shawl together, and they can also be used in men’s clothing, probably to hold a cloak together.
